Breed Information Booth at the 2003 CFA International Cat Show

The Cat Fanciers' Association Norwegian Forest Cat breed council is a group of experienced breeders devoted to promoting the beauty, uniqueness and distinction of the breed.  It  is an advisory body within the CFA.  Members address issues about the breed standard through the Breed Council Secretary.  Members must have the specified experience breeding and showing Norwegian Forest Cats to be eligible to participate.  Visit the CFA Web site to learn how to become an NFCBC member and download the appropriate forms.

Breed Council Secretary

The Breed Council Secretary is elected by members of the Council.  The current BC Secretary is Katherine Bock of Rochester, New York.

Breed Council Meetings

The Breed Council meets 2 times a year; locations vary as to members available to meet.

The next meeting will be at 3:00 PM., Saturday, June 26, 2010  prior to CFA Annual Banquet and Awards ceremony in Minneapolis.

Breed Education

Periodically the Breed Council is asked to provide information on the Norwegian Forest Cat to assist those interested in joining the judging program or already an active CFA Judge.  In June 2001, the CFA Judges' Workshop featured presentations on the Norwegian Forest Cat and Maine Coon Cat.
